Privacy Policy
Last updated: 15 October 2026
This policy explains how OTT Builder (“we”, “us”) collects, uses and protects personal information when you visit ottbuilder.com, contact us, request a quote or demo, or order our services. OTT Builder designs, builds and maintains white-label streaming player apps for businesses. Contact us at [email protected].
This policy covers our own website and services. Apps we build for customers are published by those customers under their own names; each customer is responsible for the privacy policy of its own app and service.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact, demo, quote and newsletter forms: your name, company or service name, work email, your service’s website, the platforms you are interested in, and your message.
- Orders and billing: when you order, you create an account in our client area at store.ottbuilder.com. We collect your name, company, email, billing address, order and invoice history, and the brand assets you send us (logo, colors, app name).
- Live preview: the app name, colors and logo you try in the live preview stay in your browser. If you choose to attach your design to an order, we receive that design together with the email you enter.
- Support: the content of emails and support tickets you send us.
- Messages on Facebook and Instagram: when you message our Facebook Page or our Instagram account, Meta passes us your message, the ID Meta assigns you for our Page or account, and the basic profile details Meta makes available, such as your name. Our assistant answers common questions automatically, and a member of our team can read and reply to the conversation.
Payments
Payments are processed by our payment providers, such as PayPal and our card payment processor. They collect your payment details directly under their own privacy policies. We do not receive or store your full card number; we receive confirmation of the payment and limited details such as the payment status and amount.
Information collected automatically
- Server and security logs: like most websites, our servers and our network provider record technical data such as IP address, browser type, pages requested, referring page and date and time. We use this to operate, secure and troubleshoot the site.
- Cookies and similar technologies: see section 4.
2. How we use information
- To reply to your enquiries, send quotes and arrange demos.
- To answer the messages you send us on Facebook Messenger and Instagram, including with automated answers to common questions.
- To process orders, build and deliver your apps, provide support and send service messages.
- To bill you, keep accounting records and meet legal obligations.
- To keep the website and our services secure and working, and to prevent fraud and abuse.
- To measure and improve our advertising, using the Meta Pixel, only if you accept cookies (see section 4).
- To send product updates if you subscribe. You can unsubscribe at any time.
We do not sell your personal information.
3. Legal bases (EEA and UK)
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on: performance of a contract (orders, delivery, support); our legitimate interests (replying to enquiries, running and securing the site, business records); legal obligations (tax and accounting); and your consent (advertising cookies and the Meta Pixel, and marketing emails). You can withdraw consent at any time.
4. Cookies and the Meta Pixel
We use a small first-party cookie to remember your cookie choice for 180 days. Our client area at store.ottbuilder.com uses cookies needed to log in and complete an order.
With your consent, we use the Meta Pixel, a tool provided by Meta Platforms, to measure the effectiveness of our ads on Facebook and Instagram and to reach people who visited our site. When enabled, the Pixel sends Meta information such as the pages you visit, actions such as submitting a form or clicking to order, your IP address and browser details. Meta may combine this with information it already holds about you, under Meta’s own privacy policy. The Pixel only loads after you click “Accept” in our cookie banner. If you click “Decline”, it is not loaded. To change your choice, clear the cookies for ottbuilder.com in your browser and choose again when the banner reappears.
5. Who we share information with
We share personal information only with service providers who help us run our business, including:
- hosting and server providers that run our website and client area;
- Cloudflare, which provides network, performance and security services for our domains;
- email service providers that send and receive our email;
- payment processors such as PayPal and our card payment processor;
- Meta, which operates Facebook Messenger and Instagram and delivers the messages you send us there, and for advertising measurement only if you accept cookies;
- app store operators (Apple, Google, Amazon, Samsung, LG) when we support submissions you ask us to make.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect our rights or the safety of others, or as part of a merger or sale of our business.
6. International transfers
Our service providers may process information in countries other than yours, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms.
7. How long we keep information
- Enquiries and leads that do not become customers: up to 24 months after our last contact.
- Messenger and Instagram conversations: our copy is kept like other enquiries, for up to 24 months. Copies held by Meta follow Meta’s own policies.
- Customer account, order and support records: for as long as you are a customer and for the period required afterwards for legal, tax and accounting purposes.
- Server and security logs: for a limited period, typically no longer than 90 days, unless needed to investigate an incident.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- access the personal information we hold about you and receive a copy;
- correct inaccurate information;
- ask us to delete your information;
- object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent at any time;
- receive your information in a portable format;
- complain to your local data protection authority.
If you are a California resident, you may also have the right to know what personal information we collect, use and disclose, to request deletion and correction, and to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. Declining cookies in our banner turns off the Meta Pixel. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.
To make a request, email [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
Deleting your data
To delete the information we hold about you, email [email protected] from the address you used with us. We complete deletion requests within 30 days, except for records we must keep by law, such as invoices.
If you contacted us on Facebook Messenger or Instagram, you can also send the message delete my data (or احذف بياناتي) in that conversation. We then delete our copy of the conversation and your details straight away and confirm in the chat. Deleting the chat in Messenger or Instagram removes it only from your side; Meta’s copies follow Meta’s own policies.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and restricted access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
10. Children
Our website and services are intended for businesses and are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and change the “Last updated” date. Significant changes will be highlighted on this page.
12. Contact
For any privacy question or request, contact us at [email protected]. See also our Terms of Service and Refund Policy.
